The Cane Creek Thudbuster G4 ST Suspension Seatpost utilizes a proven parallel linkage technology, while being completely re-designed for increased durability, a higher rider weight limit, additional suspension travel, as well as ease of use through tool-free elastomer change and a single-bolt seat clamp design. Designed specifically with the rigors of e-bikes and daily commuting in mind, the Thudbuster ST (short travel) has 50mm of travel to significantly diminish shocks and impacts from broken pavement, cobblestones or any other mixed surfaces.

I started using this on my hard tail 29 bike. I wasn't sure how much was it and how much was the front forks. I then put it on my bike with a rigid fork and I did notice the difference. However, when I put it back on the bike with the suspension fork, the cushioning was barely noticeable. Also, I have an Ergon seat with some give. Based on this, I wouldn't buy it again as I ride with fairly wide tires (55mm), a nice seat and front suspension, so the gain is minimal and not worth the cost and weight penalty. However, if you are riding a rigid fork, hard seat and narrow tires, it would worthwhile.
