It is not a fast processor. Sometimes it takes quite a while to resolve a new course moving or not. One can easily push the buttons faster than it can respond.
The beacon only works when there is cell communication. When it is reestablished the path you took is relayed and it shows that you are actually not dying by the side of the trail.
At 6 months the thing died. Garin sent a refurbished one but what will happen in the next 6 months?
The setup was easy, nothing difficult or confusing to follow, except giving the info on the contact list wasn't for me.
I didn't look at the manual so the features that are by default are just what I need, except I have to read the manual now to know how to work these features. But overall is a great unit and the GPS works great and it prompted me to know if I wanted to use a feature about the trail I was it but didn't open or used it. I also like that there are no more "settings" to adjust after the season is over, meaning having to set up the computer manually like I used to with my CatEye cyclo-computer.
And the price was fantastic!
I didn't or going to buy the other pieces of hardware that some of the features need, ie; heart-monitor, cadence, and all that stuff, I just need average speed, max, distance and I like that I get to see how many calories I've burned based on those features mentioned.
A cyclo-computer that resets every year? Nah! The 520 Plus is perfect, no need to re-setup anything, just mount and go!
520 plus is no exception
It appears this device was previously used. I tried calling and could not get a live person and used the automated return call feature and never received a call back.
Great price from Performance Bike!
