A common problem with high-definition action cameras is battery life. Many manufactures claim their cameras may run for about 2 hours, but sometimes using these cameras it feels like the juice runs out sooner than 2 hours. If you're planning on filming an activity that you know lasts more than about 2 hours, you can make edits 'on the fly' by turning on and recording for interesting parts of the activity. That can be dangerous, and you shouldn't have to worry about battery life while you're enjoying and filming an activity. Garmin thought of something for this problem.
Using this case and the included wiring, you can use another battery to extend the battery life of the Virb Ultra 30. This is possible thanks to the water proof case with a sealed power chord connected to the case which keeps the camera charging. You can connect the included power cable to an external battery to keep the Virb rolling. The powered mount case keeps your camera rolling while its connected to the power supply as long as things don't get too hot. The camera can over-heat (113°F is the limit) is one of when its filming while being charged and things can get humid in the case, but don't worry about it -- there are some humidity indicator adhesives that determine the degree of moisture in the case.
Features:
- Extends the battery-life of the Virb Ultra 30 using wiring and external power source
