With the Giro Aether MIPS Helmet, safety and protection from an impact is everything. Plenty of performance helmets have MIPS Brain Protection System (BPS), but the Aether has an improved, redesigned MIPS protection system. MIPS BPS is scientifically proven to reduce rotational motion when implemented in a helmet by absorbing and redirecting rotational forces. Until now, MIPS BPS has always been implemented directly against the rider's head with a plastic slip-plane inside the helmet. Aether MIPS, or MIPS Spherical, is what the Giro Aether calls their revolutionized MIPS BPS. So what has Giro and MIPS done differently to improve this system? A dual-density foam liner that manages a wide range of impact energies called EPS foam, surrounds the MIPS so that the MIPS is integrated between layers of EPS foam, all while having incredible air channeling.

Features:

  • Micro-bead expanded polystyrene material for a sleek and slim silhouette without compromising protection standouts
  • Structural integrity supported by the shatter-resistant and translucent AURA reinforcing arch that runs throughout the helmet
  • Multi-density EPS foam to save weight and manage a wide range of impact energies
  • Integrated docking eyewear ports with rubber grippers to help secure sunglasses

Helmet Measurements:

  • Wrap a measuring tape around your head
  • Make sure that tape is level from front to back
  • Note measurement and reference Size Chart
Circumference (cm)
S52 - 55.5cm
M55.5 - 59cm
L59 - 62.5cm
XL62.5 - 65cm

Note: Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you've got the right size, you can adjust the fit.

How to Adjust Fit:

  1. Adjust the fit system at the rear of the helmet for a snug, secure fit. Some helmets also include a vertical tuning feature that allows you to adjust the fore/aft tilt, for optimal positioning on your head.
  2. Adjust the straps so that they sit just below the earlobes.
  3. Adjust the buckle so that it rests against the back of the jaw/throat.
  4. Adjust the interior pads if needed.
  5. Check the fit to make sure helmet is comfortable and secure. It should not roll forward or back, or be able to slide off.

Note: All measurements are provided by the manufacturer and may vary depending on how measurements are acquired.
