The KMC X12 EcoProteQ chain is a durable and versatile chain that is rugged enough for a mountain bike, and light enough to not weigh a road bike down. The double X-bridge shaping of the plates in addition to extensive chamfering of the edges of the plates help this chain to mesh better and more quickly to gear teeth, resulting in a much better shifting quality. A special heat treatment and solid, mushroom riveted pins resist wear and chain stretch, and the unique EcoProteQ finish on this chain is a very tough barrier against rust and corrosion, further enhancing the long term durability and overall chain life. Last but not least, these chains are non-directional and are compatible with 12 speed drivetrains from Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM.
