Pearl Izumi Escape Quest Bib Shorts (Black) (L)
The bibs overall are quite nice in material, quality and fit. I'm 5'10", 204 lbs with a dad bod and a large fits well. Like a few other reviewers noted, the chamois can be better. It's fine for short rides and workouts however going on longer rides (1.5+ hours), it does get a bit uncomfortable.

I wouldn't buy this again and would go for a more premium product from Pearl Izumi.

Pearl Izumi Escape Quest Bib Shorts (Black) (M)
I ordered both a size Small and a size Medium, as I tend to fall in between the sizing recommendations (31.5 inch waist, 6' tall, 157 lbs. I ended up keeping the Small, as the Medium was not snug enough, especially in the legs. The pad is quite large (in area), larger than any other pad I have ever seen in a pair of bib shorts. Although the bib shorts fit very well, with good compression in the legs, they could be about a half to a full inch longer (I have a 34" inseam). The pad is the weakest feature of these shorts, I rate it only adequate. It is not firm enough. I took a 3 hour ride in them and after about 1.5 hours, I was feeling some discomfort (not numbness, just wished for firmer padding).

Measurement Guide:

  1. Chest- Measure circumference around fullest part, across bust points, keeping the tape horizontal
  2. Waist- Measure circumference around the narrowest part (typically the small of the back where the body bends to the side), keeping tape horizontal
  3. Hips- Measure circumference around fullest part of hips keeping the tape measure horizontal

Measurement Guide Notes:

  • Use the chart to determine size
  • If measurements are between two sizes, sizing down will provide a tighter fit while sizing up will provide a looser fit
  • If the measurements for the chest and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, choose the size indicated by the chest measurement
  • If measurements for hips and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, choose the size indicated by the hip measurement
