Shimano Professional Disc Brake Bleed Kit
Unfortunately this item has a fatal design flaw which renders it unusable. The fitting on the end of the hose which is supposed to screw into the tip of the syringe has two serious problems. The male screw thread is poorly made and does not correctly match the female thread on the end of the syringe. And, the fatal flaw is that there is a tiny hard plastic nipple on the inner part of the syringe end which is supposed to slide up into a corresponding hole in the end of the plastic fitting on the hose end. However you have a very tight fit of hard plastic on hard plastic and so instead of sliding onto the nipple it simply breaks off inside of the fitting, which completely destroys the entire apparatus and renders it unusable. It's one of the most bewilderingly poor designs I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
In addition, as if this weren't bad enough, the item is annoyingly overpriced. To look at it, I'd price it at $30 tops, and that's being generous. It's two little stamped out plastic funnels and a syringe for $54. Really?

Shimano Professional Disc Brake Bleed Kit
The critical reviews have some truth to them, but this is not a bad product. I paid $40, which seems overpriced, but not terrible. I could have opted for a generic Amazon kit, but this is higher quality than the cheap kits. Yes, the threads are plastic and I would imagine could strip. Use your head, they don't need to be tight, there is an o-ring. So just snug them down and they'll be fine. You could also cross thread them, it's not rocket science, these are plastic threads so be careful. I've used the kit several times now and it easily gets the job done.

Shimano Professional Disc Brake Bleed Kit
Extremely easy to strip the threads of the funnel. Not “professional” at all. And not worth over $50. Buy the cheapest thing on Amazon you can and it’ll do the same job (maybe better)
