The Roval Control World Cup Carbon MTB Wheels have been meticulously designed to deliver a remarkably durable, 998g wheelset for cross country mountain bike racing and riding. Working closely with the Specialized Factory Racing Team, Specialized went through countless revisions before finally settling on a shallow and wide rim profile that is not only remarkably rugged (the team rode the entire 2024 campaign without a rim failure!), they are lighter than any previous XC MTB rim that Specialized has produced. Roval low flange straight pull hubs reside at the heart of these wheels, and these hubs are stuffed with DT Swiss's proven 180 EXP internals with sealed ceramic bearings that will roll extremely easily, will have a very long useful life, and are very easy to maintain.
To unify the incredible rims to those smooth hubs, Specialized has developed a custom set of straight pull carbon fiber and titanium spokes which are both lighter and stronger than steel spokes commonly found in high end wheels. Not only do those spokes unify the hubs to the rims, they reduce trail vibrations which will minimize rider fatigue, and those spokes will also improve how fast these wheels wind up for impressive acceleration. Combine all of these components together and the result a balanced, 998g XC mountain bike wheelset with amazing comfort, un-compromising performance, and proven reliability that will have you more consistently riding at the head of the pack.
