Tubes are pretty thick and the contoured shape should work to close small holes.
Valves don't seal unless you really torque them shut, maybe residue in the stem?
Failed on first ride and first thorn, held for a bit but after taking a rest stop but I came back to a flat tire. Didn't seem to be any slime in the tube, nothing trying to seal it up after I pulled the thorn.
I removed the core and there was some black residue, seemed pretty dry, I'll try to reload it and see what happens.
