Jagwire Pro Shift Kit (Black) (For Shimano/SRAM) (1.1mm) (2300/2800mm)
Did some maintenance on my son's bike and another friend's bike. My friend had some regular, fairly entry level cables. I had these for my son's bike. It happened that my friend's cables were poorly adjusted and I needed to loosen the bolt, adjust the cable and then tighten again (too much adjustment needed for the barrel adjuster). I could see that from a single tighening, the cable was basically shot and was unwinding apart at the spot where it had tightened. Fortunately I had to tighten the cable, so the compromised spot was distal to the clamp.

With my son's bike, I mistakenly tightened the cable too much initially and had to loosen and tighten again. This cable was completely intact at the spot where I had tightened earlier. Given he wears out his pads frequently and the presence of cable stretch, the potential to have to clamp and unclamp this cable at the end maybe one more time makes me more confident that I can do so and the cable integrity will not be compromised. Best cables for the money (similarly prices shimano cables were not as nice, IMO).
