The Specialized Tarmac SL8 Pro is designed for speed across any ride profile. Building upon the SL7's "one bike to rule them all" mantra, the Tarmac SL8 takes this all-around winning design and shaves weight while still prioritizing aerodynamics and stiffness. The SL8 Pro is constructed around a 1.69 kg (size 56cm) frame made from FACT 10r Carbon. While slightly heavier than its S-Works counterpart (around 320g heavier), the SL8 frame provides the same level of compliance as its big sibling. Of note, the "Speed Sniffer" front design sets the headtube back away from the leading edge of the bike, allowing for a sharper, lower drag shape. In terms of its stiffness-to-weight ratio, the SL8 provides a 33% gain over the SL7, making this bike equally suitable for all-out sprints or hillclimb finishes.
Spec'd with Shimano Ultegra Di2, the Pro model provides a high-level of electronic shifting performance (12 speed Di2 is known for its impressive battery life, ultra-fast shifting speeds, and hassle-free hydraulic brakes). For this build, Specialized has included a 4iiii crank-based power meter allowing riders to take their training and pacing to the next level. On top of that, deep rimmed Roval Rapide CL II wheels provide a high-level of stability in the wind and are super stiff (plus they can be easily setup tubeless). On the whole, the SL8 is a winning formula designed to take on the most competitive races in the world.
Features:
Aero In Everything design prioritizes aerodynamics in every element of the frame design
The "Speed Sniffer" sets the headtube back and creates a sharper edge and lower drag shape
Lighter than the SL7 while remaining super stiff (33% increase in stiffness-to-weight ratio)
S-Works Tarmac SL8 FACT carbon seatpost is narrower and more aero
Roval Rapide CL II wheels provide stiffness and stability with a 30mm external width for ultimate aerodynamics
Shimano Ultegra 12 Speed Di2 electronic shifting provides a high level of reliability and performance
Crankset-integrated 4iiii power meter provides an additional level of cycling metrics
32mm tire clearance allows riders to run wider road tires
Frame is designed to be "beyond gender" as Specialized research shows there is no need for separate bike designs for men and women
Threaded BSA bottom bracket provides easy maintenance and is less likely to develop creaking noises

Note: This bicycle comes equipped with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting. Shifters and derailleurs will be set up and paired by our in-house mechanic. We recommend installing the Shimano E-Tube Project app on your smartphone. This will allow you to check battery levels, customize controls, pair devices, and update firmware.
IMPORTANT! When using the E-Tube Project app, make sure to always select "disconnect" when you are done making updates to your bike. DO NOT QUIT THE APP or walk away from the bike with your phone while updating.
