SRAM Force eTap AXS D2 Rear Derailleur (Unicorn Grey) (12 Speed) (Medium Cage)
My latest purchase from Performance Bicycle couldn't have been stranger. After I received my SRAM Force rear derailleur I took it to my bike shop for installation. The mechanic there said he had problems with it because it was a 1x derailleur. I called Performance to be sure they shipped the correct part number and I checked the box I received. Both confirmed I received a 00.7518.173.000. The correct part.

My mechanic disagreed and sent me a photo of the derailleur with XPLR written on it.

I called SRAM and they asked me to give them the serial number on the derailleur. When they checked, they said this derailleur was a SRAM Force Explorer 1x and wouldn't work with my 2x drivetrain. They said this derailleur had originally been sold to Canyon and they confirmed the part number shown on the box I received was incorrect.

How a part sold to Canyon ended up in a Performance Bicycle mislabeled box is a mystery. This of course cost me more at my local bike shop and has to be one of the stranger transactions I've had.
