Wolf Tooth Components Elliptical Aero Chainring Description:
The Wolf Tooth Components Elliptical Aero Chainring is designed for riders that are looking to optimize the setup of their 1x12 speed Shimano GRX 800 series drivetrains. Precision CNC machining using 7075-T6 aluminum alloy creates a tooth profile that engages with a longer section of the chain as it wraps over the chainring for better power transfer, less chances of dropping the chain over rough terrain, and a longer useful chain and chainring lifespan. And the careful machining of the mounting area of the chainring ensures a very tight fit on the crankset for a more seamless aero profile; the tight fit will also ensure that the chainring bolts will require less maintenance and tightening to keep everything solid and quiet.
The unique PowerTrac elliptical shaping of this chainring is designed to smooth out the distribution of power throughout a full pedal stroke. The larger diameter section harnesses the power of the down and upstrokes, while the smaller diameter sections reduce the power drain so it is much easier to pull the pedals through what is traditionally a dead zone at the top and bottom of the pedal stroke. In laymen's terms, elevation changes become much, much easier, and sprinting to top speed will feel like a much larger chainring was added to your bike for impressive speed gains. When it is all said and done, these chainrings are an incredible performance upgrade for any bike that is equipped with a Shimano GRX 800 series gravel crankset.
Note: Drop-Stop ST tooth profile is only compatible with 12 speed Shimano HG+ chains and 12 Speed KMC chains. This chainring is NOT compatible with Shimano GRX 600 series cranksets (SKU's: FC-RX600-1, FC-RX600-10, RX600-10, FC-RX610-1, FC-RX610-2).
