One of the lightest and most efficient pedals on the planet, just got lighter and more efficient. The Shimano PD-9100 is 14 grams lighter than its PD-9000 predecessor. To get to the 234-gram weight Shimano looked at every detail from the injection–molded carbon-composite body to the hollow cleat bolts. The PD-9100 is the perfect balance of strength-to-weight rigidity and efficiency. It's the ultimate expression of the SPD-SL platform.
Features:
- Wide Bearing Placement: Bearing placement at both ends of the platform offers symmetrical load dispersion. Silky-smooth rotation with stable load distribution delivers superior pedaling performance
- Low-Profile Design: Maximum performance is achieved with close-to-the axle pedal/cleat interface
- Hollow Cleat Bolts: No detail is overlooked hollow cleat bolts offer lighter weight, superior performance and long-life
- Customizable Ride Settings: Adjustable tension settings allow the cleat tension to be tuned to the individual rider’s preference
- Includes blue 2 degree float cleats (SM-SH12)
- 4mm longer version is great for riders who need the extra shoe clearance or wider stance

The Zero was similar in price but heavier, the Nano similar in weight but ridiculously priced...many reports of bearing issues and complexity and cost of of cleat ended up rulling the Speed plays out.
The Look, good weight, reasonable price, nice design and simple....but reported issues of noises between pedal and cleat made this a no go to.
So I chose the Dura Ace, cost was the least, no reported issues of noises or bearing issues. Cleats reasonably priced. Mid range of weight when weighing cleats and pedals together of the ones listed....Dura Ace just the best bet for my money when comparing everything....also more professional teams in the TDF choose Dura Ace.
